March is Women's History Month

Have you ever noticed that it seems like there are not many women in your history books?
Do you think that means women have not played a part in the history of the world?

No Way!!
Here are some examples of women in history who advocated for human, civil and women's rights

Who are some other inspirational women you can think of?

The theme for Women’s History Month 2015 is Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives.
What a PERFECT connection to your Journey in the It’s Your Story – Tell It Series

If you haven’t already done this Journey, what a great time to start it…If you are working on it now, see what connections you can make to incorporate this year’s Women’s History Month…If you have already completed it, go ahead and revel in your knowledge and support all the amazing girls and women you know this month (and all year long!)

If women's history and examples of fierce women doing amazing things interests you, check out the National Women's History Project

Don't forget that today is tomorrow's history...how will YOU make history?

Celebrate Girl Scout Week

Every year we celebrate an entire week of Girl Scouts and it is always the week which has the Girl Scout Birthday...do you know the date that Girl Scouts started?

That's right...March 12, 1912.

Girl Scout Week 2015 starts on March 8!
The week-long celebration begins with Girl Scout Sunday, moves right along to the Girl Scout Birthday on Thursday March 12, and wraps up with Girl Scout Sabbath on Saturday, March 14.

How will you honor a whole week dedicated to you and your Girl Scout awesomeness?!

How about working on the Vi Petal or the Girl Scout Way Badge?

Tell us how you will celebrate Girl Scout Week!

How about celebrating with GSESC Council Shops?!
