What's your favorite book?

If you are just discovering the wonders of reading and books, what book(s) do you LOVE to read?

If you have been reading and enjoying books for a while now, do you lean toward the classics...or are you the first one to read the newest series no one is talking about yet?

Whatever your preferences and whatever you read, you have something to celebrate next week...It's Children's Book Week!

May 4 -10, 2015 is the 96th anniversary of Children's Book Week, which is a celebration of books for YOU and the joy of reading.
Check out the website to check out different types of books and vote for your favorite!
Ask an adult to look through the activities page to see if there is anything they would like to help you and your friends do.

Earth Day is coming up!

Earth Day is April 22, which is next Wednesday!

Check out the GSUSA For Girls Blog about Earth Day and play some games while you are there!

How about working on the Use Resources Wisely petal or Naturalist badge or a patch program?

Try The Earth Matters to Girl Scouts patch program from Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines. You will need to contact that council if you decide to complete the patch program and would like to purchase the patch. (just click on the link above for their patch program page)

Even if you don't work on an earned award, Earth Day is a great opportunity to live the
Girl Scout Promise and Law!

Visit the Environmental Protection Agency to see about somewhere you can volunteer or simply be creative and make the world a better place on Earth Day in your own original way.

Special Announcement!

Camp registration is in full swing, so the summer schedule has been evaluated and the following changes made:

Week 1 June 14th - 19th
CANCELLED: Wild Water, Travel Trip
ADDED: You Can't Do That At Camp (ages 11-14)

Week 4 July 5th - 10th
ADDED: Camp Cuisine (ages 11-14)

If you are wondering how this happens, it is because some camps don't receive any registrations and some are full and more girls want to come.

You can download the camp brochure here if you haven't had a chance to yet.
