School's almost over!
What are you doing this summer?!
Get started by celebrating Memorial Day! It's not JUST a day for picnics and parties...it began as Decoration Day following the Civil War and was a day to lay flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers. The day of remembrance was celebrated in many different ways for many years but in 1977 was named Memorial Day and given the last Monday in May as the official holiday.
If history is your thing, you can learn more about the history of Memorial Day here.
If you are looking for a way to recognize fallen armed service people and help out survivors and families, check out this page with great ideas!
